About the Role

1 Application Development and Engineering Design, build, and maintain AI-enabled and geospatial software applications spanning desktop, web, and cloud platforms. Contribute across the full technology stack, including user interfaces, back-end services, and automated data pipelines.

Support enterprise-grade mobile, desktop, and web products through the complete software lifecycle from initial development through deployment, quality assurance, and ongoing maintenance. 2 AI Agent Development Assist in the design, development, training, testing, and iterative refinement of AI agents for international development applications.

Integrate AI tools and large language model (LLM) capabilities into existing geospatial software platforms used across development programs. 3 Data Infrastructure and Cloud Design and build structured and unstructured data pipelines optimized for geospatial data at scale.

Integrate storage and database solutions, including PostgreSQL/PostGIS, AWS S3, and key-value stores. Support deployment of applications and machine learning models on cloud platforms, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.

4 Collaboration and Knowledge Management Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, consultants, and project managers across multiple regions and time zones. Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers and fellow interns.

Maintain comprehensive documentation of technical workflows, development processes, and established best practices. Prepare clear and concise technical notes, meeting minutes, and progress summaries for internal and external audiences. 5 Required

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience integrating LLMs and tool-calling APIs (e.g., OpenAI API, Azure OpenAI), including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and systematic model evaluation.
• Hands-on experience with LLM and agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex) and vector search solutions (e.g., pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch).
• Practical knowledge of ML/MLOps workflows and deployment tooling (e.g., MLflow, DVC, Airflow, Prefect, Docker, Kubernetes) and model serving infrastructure (e.g., FastAPI, TorchServe, Triton Inference Server).
• Familiarity with AI quality assurance, safety, and observability practices, including evaluation frameworks, robustness testing, cost and latency optimization, and monitoring tools such as LangSmith, Arize/Phoenix, or OpenTelemetry.
• Working knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, with experience applying them in research or applied project contexts.

• We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer Intern with a strong academic grounding in computer science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to join our global development team.
• This is a full-time, office-based position located in Delhi, India, with close collaboration with project leadership in both India and the United States.
• The successful candidate will contribute to the design and development of AI/ML-enabled analytics platforms, encompassing back-end infrastructure, data pipelines, and end-to-end user experience.
• You will play a direct role in building AI-integrated products that support program evaluations, evidence-based decision-making, spatial analysis, and enterprise-scale geospatial workflows.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor's degree programme in Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of one year of academic study and applied experience in AI for software products, including LLM integration, prompt and tool orchestration, model evaluation, or ML pipeline development and deployment.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including version control (Git), testing practices, debugging methodologies, and the ability to design and maintain scalable, well-structured systems.
• Proficiency in Python for application development and data processing; familiarity with UI frameworks (e.g., PyQt5) and/or back-end services (e.g., Node.js, FastAPI, or equivalent).
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with demonstrated ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work from our Rohini, Delhi office a minimum of two days per week (three days preferred).
