L3 Switch Design Engineer

About the Role

Design of auto electrical Switches and assembly parts. Control switched DVP preparation & coordination with testing team for execution. Feasibility checks on styling sketches in early stage of project development, feedback design requirements to styling team. Discuss with the different teams and define the interface requirement clearly.

Layout and packaging of parts in vehicle DMU from concept stage and finalise considering all aspects of functionality and manufacturability. Conduct DR (design review), FMEA (system/ design) and apply all such tools in the design phase. Define performance and reliability test parameters, procedures for switches.

Keep track of global trends in relevant technology, regulations and develop long term road maps and appropriate work plan. Benchmarking and generation of ideas for better performance, quality, cost, weight Root cause analysis for quality issues using QC tools and countermeasure action.

Define the overall activity schedule for all projects, monitor the same periodically and take appropriate action to ensure targeted deliveries.

Competencies Technical/ Functional Proficient in all tools for switches design, layout (switch internal, vehicle side) and CAD tool, preferably Unigraphics Thorough in basic theories and design concepts for automotive switches. ) Competent in micro switch, tact switch, rubber membrane type switch, low and high current switches etc.

Knowledge about automotive industry standards and regulations, applicable globally. Product lifecycle management system. Knowledge in ISO/ TS standards for design, environment, information security and functional safety. Knowledge of all kinds of Plastic & contact materials used for automotive switches and their selection criteria.

Understanding of basic automotive electrical, switch related ckts etc. Understanding of basic automotive electronics would be an advantage. Should have experience of 12V & 48V switches.
