About the Role
g. ). The individual will work directly with the SGM BD and other members of the business development team (including JERA HQ as well as local office members in Asia) to support projects and maximize value creation associated with those projects and the resultant portfolio.
The candidate will have demonstrated expertise in project development, merger and acquisitions, problem solving, meticulous organization and communicating and working with diverse functional groups. Essential Functions . Support business development activities, including identification, evaluation, and execution of new opportunities across Asia and Oceania.
Assist in the preparation and review of contracts associated with power/energy projects, support in the development of contractual strategies aligned with project, regional, and market objectives.
Provide analytical support in pre- and post-deal commercial advice, including assessing of contractual and financial risks, and identifying opportunities to add value to the business. Assist in project financing and deal structuring strategies.
Coordinate internal and external stakeholders across all development workstreams and support functions to minimize execution and operational risks. Monitor and support management of Time Charter Party agreements and verify commercial reports to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Assist in updating LNG market watch and support commercial activities within JERA Group companies. Support the Business Development team with commercial, technical, and solution-oriented perspectives when evaluating new project opportunities. Support special projects and assignments as directed.
Assist in resolving contractual disputes with counterparties, in coordination with the corporate legal team as necessary. Demonstrate strong initiative in unstructured environments and apply analytical problem-solving skills to complex challenges. Competencies . Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and evolving environment .
Good project coordination and negotiation skills . Understanding of value creation in power/energy assets and markets in the Asia region . Ability to analyze financial and commercial data, and identify key risks and opportunities.
Understanding of power/energy markets, policy and regulations, vendors, consultancy service providers, and power/energy economics in Asia . Good interpersonal, relationship management and collaboration skills within large organizations and with broad multi-parties outside organizations .
Ability to build relationships with financing partners and counter-parties, at the individual and company level . Ability to prioritize tasks to align with goals and effectively manage competing deadlines . Strong organizational, presentation and verbal and written communication skills .
Highly driven, detail-oriented and hard-working individual with high standards for self and others . Analytical problem-solving skills and high level of integrity . Proficient in Japanese to effectively communicate with counterparts in Japan, including personnel in JERA Head Office in Japan. Required
Job Details
Experience: University Degree . 3 to 7 years of experience in project development, structuring, origination, finance and/or similar roles in the power/energy sectors. Other Duties As defined by the employee and supervisor in the execution of the business. ##
