Job Description

About the Role

  • As a member of the Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS) Sourcing team, you will drive proactive procurement initiatives specializing in unmanaged spend analysis, catalog expansion, and process improvement / automation opportunity identification.
  • While supporting reactive sourcing as needed, your primary focus will be identifying and executing opportunities to reduce unmanaged spend under GPO (Global Procurement Organization) coverage, developing automation proposals to improve team efficiency.
  • You will leverage AI-powered tools and analytical platforms to uncover spend patterns, build business cases for process improvements, and lead implementation of scalable solutions.
  • This role supports operations across APAC (Asia-Pacific), NA (North America), and EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) customer requirements.
  • Key job responsibilities Lead proactive analysis of unmanaged and free text spend data to identify high-value catalog expansion opportunities — developing actionable recommendations, building business cases, and driving implementation to reduce non-compliant purchasing across regions.
  • Identify, propose, and implement automation opportunities within the sourcing workflow — evaluating where AI-powered tools (e.g., automated RFQ (Request for Quotation) generation, intelligent vendor matching, autonomous quote reading) can replace manual processes, reduce cycle times, and improve output quality.
  • Ensure alignemnt with Category Management teams on sourcing strategies for recurring spend categories, leverage preferred supplier frameworks, and expand catalog coverage to redirect free text spend into compliant / efficient channels.
  • Execute end-to-end competitive sourcing events for opportunities identified through proactive analysis — managing multi-supplier negotiations, evaluating total cost of ownership, and awarding to optimal suppliers.
  • Develop and present spend insights, automation proposals, and process improvement recommendations to leadership — using data visualization and analytical platforms to communicate impact and prioritize initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to Amazon's Global Spending and Transaction Policy (GSTP) and comply with GPO procurement policies, procedures, and payment terms standards.
  • Serve as a compliance reference point for junior team members.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with business requesters, Category Management, Site Procurement Operations (SPO), external suppliers, and cross-functional partners — proactively aligning on sourcing strategies and resolving escalated procurement challenges.
  • Drive delivery of key performance metrics (KPIs) including catalog coverage expansion, spend under management growth, automation adoption rates, savings opportunities, and compliance rates.
  • A day in the life You'll start your day reviewing spend analytics dashboards — identifying patterns in unmanaged spend, tracking progress on catalog expansion initiatives, and prioritizing opportunities by impact.
  • You'll develop proposals for running sourcing events to increase Procurement coverage as well as proposing new automation workflows, AI tool configurations, and present findings to your manager on where technology can eliminate manual steps.
  • Throughout the day, you'll partner with business stakeholders to understand upcoming procurement needs, and work on building compliant sourcing solutions that prevent free text purchases before they happen (reducing unmanaged spend and reactive sourcing efforts).
  • About the team The Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS) Sourcing team sits within the Global Procurement Organization (GPO) and operates as a centralized sourcing function for Amazon's worldwide operations.
  • We take on central sourcing opportunities, providing scalable, standardized procurement execution across categories and regions.
  • Operating from three hubs — Barcelona (Spain), San José (Costa Rica), and Hyderabad (India) — we deliver follow-the-sun coverage across NA, EMEA, LATAM, and APAC.
  • Our team processes thousands of purchase requisitions monthly, conducts competitive sourcing events, and drives catalog expansion to deliver savings, compliance, and spend under management.
  • We are actively scaling AI-powered automation and autonomous sourcing technologies to transform how centralized procurement is executed at Amazon. - Speak, write, and read fluently in English
