About the Role

[Job ID: 1483219] Job Summary: The Small Business Clients segment in Business Banking (BB) aims to support companies with turnover of up to US$15m in Singapore by providing a comprehensive suite of financing solutions.

As a Business Development Manager, you will actively acquire New-to-Bank (NTB) clients, cross-sell the full BB product suite to exceed quarterly sales targets, support team members where required, and deliver exceptional service that consistently earns positive client feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire new‑to‑bank SME and small business clients to achieve quarterly revenue and sales targets.
  • Cross‑sell a comprehensive suite of business banking products, including working capital and lending solutions.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify client needs and recommend appropriate corporate and personal banking solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal product and credit teams to structure financing proposals and support deal execution.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and credit underwriting standards.
  • Provide timely follow‑ups and respond to client enquiries within established service timelines.
  • Maintain high service standards to ensure strong client satisfaction and positive feedback.
  • Guide and support junior team members for senior‑level appointments.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in SME banking, business banking, or commercial banking roles.
  • Tertiary education qualification from a recognised institution.
  • Solid understanding of working capital financing, business loans, and mortgage financing principles, including the TDSR framework.
  • Familiarity with customer due diligence requirements, including FATCA and related regulatory processes.
  • Strong awareness of the competitive SME banking landscape with the ability to position products effectively.
  • Good financial analysis and credit assessment skills is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin language for liaising with Mandarin‑speaking clients and stakeholders.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to identify client needs and deliver suitable banking and financing solutions.
